The Academy’s contribution to countering disinformation

YouTube video hosting has restricted access to the accounts of 112 Ukraine, NewsOne and ZIK TV channels. On February 2, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine imposing sanctions related to the ban on mentioned channels to use Ukrainian radio frequencies, retransmit/distribute TV programs and provide telecommunications services, etc. However, 112 Ukraine, NewsOne and ZIK continued their anti-Ukrainian disinformation activities on YouTube platform.

The legal analysis provided by the representative of the International Information Academy as well as the diplomatic efforts of the state bodies of Ukraine facilitated an important step of Russian disinformation counteraction.

The high assessment of the Academy’s contribution is reflected in the letter of the Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States.
